About Show Jumping Competitions at Pachesham

Pachesham provides excellent jumping facilities for both novice and professional competitors at both affiliated and non affiliated events.

Our warm up arena is 30 x 60m featuring the same rubber surface as our 60 x 75m compeition arena, and the indoor school is available as a covered collecting ring.

Affiliated Classes at Pachesham

British Showjumping is the governing body of show jumping in Great Britain formulating the rules and codes of practice under which all affiliated competitions are held.

We run British Showjumping classes to cater for all levels of ability from 70cm to 1.40m. These shows are run according to BS rules with at least two judges for each competition being members of the official panel of BS judges, and courses are designed and built by an approved course builder.

To compete in a British Showjumping competition you must either provide both horse and rider's membership numbers when entering or purchase a 'Ticket to Ride' for each class. Tickets can be purchased from the Secretary's Office at a cost of £6 each.

Unaffiliated competitions

Pachesham runs unaffiliated show jumping classes from 30cm to 90cm. These competitions may be run on our 70 x 60m rubber surface or on our large grass arenas, please check the website for details.

When you arrive please go to the Secretary's Office to enter, or to declare if you entered online. The secretary will be able to advise you which class is currently running and how many horses are entered. At the beginning of each class there will be a short opportunity to walk the course. Some classes will be run as "two phase" competitions, where if you jump clear you proceed immediately to the timed section. In other classes a jump off will be held after everyone has jumped in the first round.
